 My visit to New York was one the best periods of my life. Embassy CES language school is situated right in Manhattan, the heart of the city. They call New York “a big apple”; it is so easy to find everything there that even if you want to get lost, you will not. You will never get bored in Manhattan. There is always something to do. It is a city that never sleeps. No matter what time it is, there are always a lot of people in the streets. Well, if you feel like you need to practice Russian speech, not a problem at all, in Brighton Beach you can find everything, from Russian food and calling cards to Russian newspapers and post cards.
The first day was very official, as in every school I guess. We had a test, then we were told what level we were and our group number. I met two girls from Russia; later on we became very close friends. Besides that I made lots of international friends from France, Germany, Japan, China, Korea.
 Studying itself was a lot of fun and pleasure. By the way there is a 15-minute rule in the school – you cannot be late for your class more than 15 minutes. If later than that and more than twice a week, you will be marked as absent. So, prepare to be well-organized. Afternoon classes were our choice. They have several options and you can choose which ones you like most. During my afternoon classes we visited Lincoln Center, the Central park, the Brooklyn Bridge, or just watched a movie. It is up to you. Once during my morning class the teacher took us to Brooklyn to try the best pizza in New York. You will hear some words and expressions here that you will hardly find in your books. The school works with an agency that offers trip to the Niagara Falls. It was a real adventure. The boat took us so close to the Fall that we got wet and could feel the temperature of the water.
 I want to say a couple of words about the school programs. I have been living in the USA for over two years so far, and I never could find a similar program like in Embassy CES. All of the schools have regular 4-8 levels of general English program but none of them has Certificate of Intensive English for University Entrance except Embassy. This program has a different purpose. Ask Pulsar educational agency, you will know what I am talking about. If you are going to be a student of the TOEFL class, get ready to work really hard. But it will be paid off and you will see the result very soon.
